Bohemian Cadaqués is one of Spain’s hidden paradise locations. Located on the Mediterranean coast in the north of Catalonia, this fishing village has beautiful beaches and a vibrant cultural life.

Cadaqués is a traditional, beautiful fishing village with a fascinating history and beautifully preserved architecture. Its old town is a maze of cobbled streets, whitewashed buildings with blue details; filled with shops, restaurants and craft shops. The nearest major cities are Girona and Barcelona.

Discover the home of Salvador Dali

The feeling that permeates Cadaqués is bohemian and calm, which Cadaqués has Salvador Dali to thank for. It is said that Dali persuaded the population not to explore the city, and let build large concrete hotels. We can be happy today. Cadaqués is one of the few preserved fishing villages along the Spanish Mediterranean coast with preserved charm.

That Dali spent a lot of time here is noticeable throughout the city, and the beautiful beaches and the natural charm of the area are often seen in Dali’s work. Here is also his house, which today is a museum.

During the years, Cadaqués has been a place many of our greatest artists chose to stay and work on. In addition to Salvador Dali, Joan Miró, Pablo Picasso, Marcel Duchamp, Henri-François Rey and others have been in the town.

Eat amazingly well

Although Cadaqués is a rather small town, it boasts amazing restaurants. Among others, Compartir a restaurant run by some of the chefs from the now-closed restaurant ElBuli, which was considered to be the best restaurant in the world.

Hike in the national park

Cadaqués is located next to the Pyrenees and at the edge of the Cap de Creus National Park, which means that when you visit Cadaqués you can not only sunbathe, eat well and enjoy the atmosphere but also hike in the national park and experience amazing scenery with both mountains and sea.
