Nebbiolo – the pride of Piedmont

There are places that linger long after the suitcase is unpacked – and Piedmont is one of them. This wine trip became a journey through both taste and emotion. The mist rolling over the gentle hills, the endless vineyards, and the scent of truffle in the air make time there feel both still and alive at once. Traveling to Piedmont in October is like stepping straight into the soul of wine.

From the first evening in Milan, with a dinner that seemed to go on forever, to the days spent among the rows of Nebbiolo in Barbaresco and Barolo – everything was infused with the same care and love for craftsmanship. This group trip, led by a knowledgeable sommelier, became something more than just a wine journey – it became an experience where food, people, and landscape came together in perfect harmony.

The brief encounter with Cecilia Monte in Neive, the warm sense of family during the cooking class in Roero, and the playful truffle dogs in Monforte d’Alba became moments to carry with us after this wine journey. Between tastings, laughter, and world-class dinners, Piedmont reminded us how beautiful life can be when shared with fellow wine lovers on a journey together.

As the plane lifted from Milan, it felt as if the mist came along – a reminder that life tastes better when you slow down and truly feel it. A wine journey to Piedmont makes it impossible not to do just that.
